Synopsis: Willa Doon has always been shy. Her quiet demeanor was something she’s always embraced. That is, until Jackson Page moves to town. The one man she desperately wants to take notice struggles to remember her name. Year after year, Willa stands by, watching as the bartender slash playboy drowns his demons in beer and sex. Then one night, he shows up at her door, suddenly aware that the girl he’s seen around Lark Cove is now a beautiful woman. Except what he doesn’t remember is that this visit isn’t his first. They spent a night together once before. A night he’s forgotten, thanks to a bottle of tequila. A night that crushed a timid girl’s heart, and set a broken man on the path to heal them both.
“One day, I am going to marry Jackson Page. I just had to get him to notice me first.”
Review: Willa Doon. Wow. I wasn’t sure if I was going to like the innocent girl that was pining for Jackson, but, I loved her. The way Willa finally gets her chance is hilarious and makes you want to cry all at the same time. And because I got to see it from Willa’s perspective, I was pretty angry with Jackson. But here’s the thing, when I met Jackson and learned his part in Thea’s life (from the first book Tattered), I knew I needed his story. And I knew he had to redeem himself. Welp, Devney Perry did not disappoint. Jackson was everything I wanted him to be. I love how both Willa and Jackson bring out new sides of each other. Watching Jackson figure it all out and Willa grow into a stronger woman who holds her own is inspiring. I could not put this book down, just like the first in the series. Now onto book 3!
