SYNOPSIS

Successful, high-profile sports agent Matt Kingston thinks he can handle anything. Then soccer player Parker Speedman shows up at his door. She is young and gorgeous, has natural talent, and is looking for a team. She’s also a hothead with a punchy past who floored her last coach on live TV. Despite his misgivings, Matt agrees to be both her agent and her coach. Professional common sense says she’s off-limits. But what can he say about the raw attraction between them?

Parker plays soccer with her heart and soul. But after the events of the last year, she’s shaken. She’s already seen what a powerful man can do to a female athlete’s career. And her beloved dream is in the hands of a sexy, gorgeous man with the uncanny ability to slip past her defenses…and into her heart.

Now Matt and Parker are about to learn that when it comes to love, the only way to win is by breaking every rule they know. And by playing nice. Real nice.

REVIEW

THIS FREAKIN’ SERIES! I am here for it! Seriously, I love the explosive attraction between characters. Rachel Van Dyken does a wonderful job of creating characters with such realistic depth. They’ve been through experiences that make them relatable, and just add to their connections. When Matt was introduced in the first book, Risky Play, I fell in love with the dynamic between him, Slade, and Jagger. They are his clients, but also his friends, and they all mess around with each other is the best way. I was pretty excited to get his story in this book. I wasn’t expecting his love interest to be so amazing. Parker is determined, smart, and coping in the aftermath of trauma.

I couldn’t put this book down. They both have their reasons to hold back, which makes the journey to each other that much better. It’s almost like an enemies to lovers story with how hard they go at each other in the beginning. But I think my favorite part is witnessing Matt’s fall through all of his actions along the way. I sincerely recommend this series!!!

SYNOPSIS

They couldn’t be more different…or more completely perfect for each other.

Claire McKenna knows about loss. The bullet wound that ended her promising professional tennis career drove her to make a quiet life for herself working with fabric samples, chatting with her book group, and spending time with her parents in her sleepy coastal Connecticut hometown. Then there was the boyfriend who dumped her to pursue her adventurous childhood friend. Now, Claire’s business has hit a financial snag, but she’s up to the challenge. After all, she can survive anything. At least she thinks so…until her teen crush, Logan, returns to town with his sister, Claire’s traitorous friend.

Photographer Logan Prescott is more playboy than homebody. But his sister’s illness teaches him that there’s more to life than chasing the next thrill. Bent on helping her win Claire’s forgiveness, he turns his charm on Claire and offers her big bucks to renovate his multimillion-dollar New York City condo.

After years of playing it safe, Claire must now take some risks. The payoff could be huge, but if it all falls apart, can her heart recover from another loss?

REVIEW

This story is about facing your fears, finding yourself, and the changing relationships in your life. This is a sweet romance story where the characters show a lot of growth. They’re really just trying to figure out who they are in the world. Claire is so strong, but also caged by her fears. She’s trying to navigate her friendship, or lack there of with Payton, and her attraction to Payton’s brother Logan. Logan is super caring and has the best intentions but you know what they say, “the road to hell is paved with good intentions.” Logan seems way more put together, but he’s also trying to figure out himself throughout the story. It’s like both characters don’t even realize they need change to be happy. Overall, this was an easy and entertaining read!

Synopsis:

Tatum Alexander is so close to realizing her dream of becoming a sous chef she can taste it, but working at her ex-fiancé’s restaurant with his new girlfriend was never in her career plan. To save face and prove she’s moved on, Tatum cooks up a lie that she’s in a relationship with her best friend’s super hot cousin. There’s just one problem: Jason only recently moved to town, and he has no idea they’re already “dating.”

Jason’s a recovering ladies’ man who shouldn’t be on the menu, but that doesn’t mean he’s immune to Tatum’s quirky charm. Giving her lie a kernel of truth, they decide some no-strings-attached fun between the sheets can’t hurt. But as Tatum’s forced to keep making up stories to cover her original fib, she has a hard time separating what’s real and what’s fake—including her feelings for Jason.

With too many tales spun, Tatum can only watch in horror as her collection of yarns begins to unravel, leaving everyone she cares about feeling betrayed. After so many lies, will it be too late to set the record straight? And more importantly, will she be able to convince Jason there’s truth in their love?

Review:

As a person who hates lies, I thought I might have trouble with this premise, but Tatum’s lie has a hilarious impact. It seems so silly, but snowballs so easily. Which leads me to discuss Tatum. I LOVE HER! She is awkward, and silly, and TOTALLY AMAZING. She is one of my favorite realistic female characters I’ve read in a while. And her lies are just too entertaining because they get so outlandish. Jason was interesting, and likable, but Tatum really made the story for me.

This story also has one of my most favorite things, a great supporting cast of family members. I love that Tatum is already apart of Jason’s family get-togethers before he even enters the picture, and she lives with his cousin. I love that his mom is going through a phase of finding herself, and I love that he just can’t understand it. I just love the family dynamic so much!
