Here With Me by Samantha Young

4.5 STARS

Release Date: May 11, 2021

SYNOPSIS: Settled in the tranquil remoteness of the Scottish Highlands, Ardnoch Estate caters to the rich and famous. It is as unattainable and as mysterious as its owner —ex-Hollywood leading man Lachlan Adair—and it’s poised on the edge of a dark scandal. After narrowly escaping death, police officer Robyn Penhaligon leaves behind her life in Boston in search of some answers. Starting with Mac Galbraith, the Scottish father who abandoned her to pursue his career in private security. To re-connect with Mac, Robyn will finally meet a man she’s long resented. Lachlan Adair. Hostility instantly brews between Robyn and Lachlan. She thinks the head of the Adair family is high-handed and self-important. And finding closure with Mac is proving more difficult than she ever imagined. Robyn would sooner leave Ardnoch, but when she discovers Mac is embroiled in a threat against the Adairs and the exclusive members of the estate, she finds she’s not yet ready to give up on her father. Determined to ensure Mac’s safety, Robyn investigates the disturbing crimes at Ardnoch, forcing her and Lachlan to spend time together. Soon it becomes clear a searing attraction exists beneath their animosity, and temptation leads them down a perilous path. While they discover they are connected by something far more addictive than passion, Lachlan cannot let go of his grip on a painful past: a past that will destroy his future … if the insidious presence of an enemy lurking in the shadows of Ardnoch doesn’t do the job first.

Here With Me is Book 1 in the new Adair Family Series!

REVIEW: I loved the underlying plot of the story. I didn’t know exactly what was going to ensue, which doesn’t happen often. The romantic suspense part definitely kept me guessing! I do like how well Samantha Young writes these emotionally charged characters and scenes. There is so much depth to all of these characters. It was such a weird mix of people, but in a really good way. The fact that the characters are all fairly close in age, even though that includes a dad and a daughter, also played into the fact that the dynamics were not typical and added a lot to the story. The connections and friendships were just so interesting. The pace did seem a little slow to me, but I just think this book was a little on the longer side and I might not have been in the mood for that. There was more than one big thing that happened, so I kind of thought I was at the end of the book a few different times. Luckily, I did really enjoy what happened and I am sincerely looking forward to finding out what happens to the rest of the characters in the next books! Especially Robyn’s Dad!!

Wright with Benefits by K.A. Linde

5 STARS

Release Date: April 26, 2021

SYNOPSIS: I shouldn’t have hooked up with my one night stand… again. To be fair, I was having the worst day of my life. I was sure that nothing else could go wrong.
Then in walks Jordan Wright.

We have a heated history, and I’ve been avoiding him. Not least of all because he’s a hundred percent my type with those big brown eyes, a ripped body, and his blisteringly broody charm. I said I’d never go near him again. But he’s there for me when I need him. And well, old habits die hard.

Only problem?
I’m leaving in a matter of months, and nothing is going to change my mind.
Maybe in the meantime, I can still have my Wright…with benefits.

REVIEW: These new contemporary romances from K.A. Linde in the Wright series are so adorable! She revisited the series with A Wright Christmas at the end of last year and it was too cute. It made me excited for more stories in the Wright world! Annie and Jordan had such a good journey. I think what I liked about them most was their instant connection from the beginning and how that played out over the years. The back stories and hangups also made it pretty interesting. The story was lighter on the drama, which was so nice! Things definitely happen to make the story move along, but it wasn’t so over the top that I was frustrated with any of the characters. It was just enough to cause a little heartbreak and a whole lot of happy. In other words, this story just made me smile! And it was so fun seeing all the side characters. Plus, two of those side characters will be getting their own book in July: Serves Me Wright! All of the stuff that happened in this book with Julian and his girlfriend. The little glimpses we got to see of Jennifer and her personality. I am beyond excited to see what happens to them, so I’m counting down the days until July 20th!

Release Date: March 6, 2021

SYNOPSIS: In the middle of a crowded bar in our small Alaskan town, my estranged wife snuggles up to me as if we’re still a happy couple. Don’t get me wrong, we were a happy couple—before she walked out on me a year ago. We were the high school sweethearts everyone thought were destined to be together forever. We thought so too, which is why we married shortly after graduation. We had a good marriage. Until she left me without any real explanation. Now, she’s back—and this is the real kicker—she has amnesia and thinks I’m still her husband. Technically I am, although the divorce papers are sitting at the lawyer’s office. She’s desperate to remember her life in Sunrise Bay but I only want to find out why she left me. Once we conjure that memory up, it’s sayonara because there’s no second chances here. But as you probably already figured out, things didn’t go quite as I planned.

This is Book 2 in The Greene Family Series
An Amnesia Romance!

REVIEW: Freakin’ adorable! Seriously, I knew when we met Adam in My Beautiful Neighbor I was gonna love his story. The way he began the friendship with Presley, and listened to the random music to deal with his depression over being heartbroken just made him so endearing. I know this is Piper Rayne’s first amnesia romance, and I’ve got to say, I think they knocked it out of the park! Both Adam and Lucy were so lovable. I just wanted them to be together and happy. Of course, Piper Rayne had me laughing out loud during the first scene as per usual. Then you get the real emotion of what the journey is like for the two of them coming back together after everything that’s happened. As the story goes on, things start to fall into place, but what I really loved was the decisions they make as a couple the second time around. They actually stick to their promises and when everything comes out they are definitely #RelationshipGoals! I am sincerely loving the Greene family. It’s really fun seeing Hank and Marla as parents after reading My Twist of Fortune too! And with the juicy little cliffhanger that sets us up for the next book, I CANNOT wait for My Vegas Groom!

Hard Luck by Sara Ney

5 STARS

Release Date: March 25, 2021

SYNOPSIS: SOME GIRLS HAVE ALL THE LUCK
Unfortunately, I am not one of those girls. Not when I lost my apartment because my roommate let the lease lapse while I was traveling for work. Not when my brothers keep finding love and my mother keeps reminding me I’m still single. Not after a one-night stand during my older brother’s wedding has me waking up pregnant. I have to keep it a secret—from him, and my family. I sure can’t tell my brother his teammate, Mateo Jose Espinoza, is the man I slept with. Confident, funny, Mateo…
A GUY CAN’T CATCH A BREAK
Just when I thought I’d found the girl of my dreams, she ghosts me. Worse? Her brother refuses to give me her number, and my calls to her office go straight to voicemail. I thought I was a catch; professional athlete, charming, raised with six sisters—I’m a guy who knows his way to a woman’s heart! What reason could she possibly have for avoiding me?When I finally catch up to True Wallace, I’m going to get the answer.

Hard Luck is Book 4 in the Trophy Boyfriends Series
and available in Kindle Unlimited!

REVIEW: Well, that was freaking adorable. Mateo is definitely a book boyfriend and I love him so much. He is the definition of SWOON. His sisters are hilarious too! Obviously we know the Wallace family already, they are quite a trip, and I’m not referring just to the brother (pun intended). They’re all a little over-the-top and ridiculous in the best way. I think the family dynamics really play into True’s actions in the beginning–which I wanted to shake her for. Luckily, as a story went on I just fell more in love with Mateo and his relentless pursuit of True. I really wanted them to get their happy ever after! Also, Molly is such a hilarious side character and has brought so much the last two stories of this series. Something that I enjoy about these books are all of the side characters and how much they add to each book. And as usual, Sara Ney has me laughing ridiculously hard over all the antics of these weirdo characters who I truly want to be friends with.

Motorcycle Clubs and Small Town Romances

REVIEW: If you follow my reviews at all, you know I love Devney’s books! And I knew I was going to love this book after meeting Luke Rosen in the previous book. I wanted Luke to get a happy ever after so badly, because he’s just a wonderful person. We also meet Scarlett in the previous book, and I was just curious what her character arc would be like after everything she’s been through. Not only as a child, but also with her ex and how that played out with her twin, I needed things to start working for this woman. After her twin Presley’s story, it definitely seemed a little twisted up with Luke having dated Presley, but I think after reading the previous book I knew that Luke and Presley were more friends than anything else. In the beginning of this one, I wasn’t quite positive how it was all gonna come together, I mean I knew it would, but I couldn’t envision it until it was actually happening. That’s something I love about Devney Perry’s writing, she can make me go from reading a situation where I don’t know exactly how I feel about it to being absolutely, completely invested in the characters and their happy ever after! I sincerely enjoyed the whole journey these two went on. This series seems to keep getting better and better, which is why I cannot wait for Cass and Leo’s book Fallen Jester coming May 18, 2021!

Release Date: October 15, 2020

SYNOPSIS: Duke Evans didn’t expect to interrupt a beautiful woman in a staring contest with a bison on his favorite hiking trail. He also didn’t expect to see her again after rescuing her from the surly beast. As the sheriff in Calamity, Montana, he’s had his fair share of surprises but none as pleasant as pulling over a shiny black car and finding his mysterious hiking companion behind the wheel. Only, she lied to Duke. She gave him a name as fake as her hair color. According to her driver’s license, her real name is Lucy Ross, the famous country music singer whose sudden disappearance has been a hot topic in the media over the past two weeks. He’s not sure why Lucy lied about her identity or why she’s in Calamity. And she’s not talking. Instead, she offers him a bribe to keep her secret. But Duke doesn’t want her money. He wants to know why this woman is on the run. And as long as the star shines on his badge, he’s going to find out.

The Bribe is Book 1 in the Calamity Montana Series
under Devney Perry’s KU pen name!

REVIEW: In true Devney Perry fashion, this small-town, romantic suspense sucked me right in and kept me totally invested until the very end! Not to mention all the side characters that I’m so excited to see get their own stories in the series. It’s always fun to have a feeling about who the next couple might be throughout the story. I’m so excited for this whole series!
I wasn’t exactly expecting the intsalove feeling from Devney Perry in this one, but I actually really enjoyed how it played out. I like how they run into each other somewhere else and then end up in the same town. Duke is just relentless, caring, and you just know that he’s gonna take care of her. He cares, not because he’s trying to control her, but because he feels a connection with her. He was just so supportive and that made me appreciate him as a male lead. Since he’s a cop and he is used to being in charge, I think Devney Perry did a wonderful job of straddling the line to make him the perfect amount of protective. Lucy was super sweet and just someone that I would want to be friends with. She’s completely loyal and down to earth despite her previous life. She was also very understanding of what Travis meant to Duke, and I thought that showed a lot about her as a person. I just really enjoyed these two together and I’m glad they found their HEA after all of the craziness.

Dotted Lines by Devney Perry

5 STARS

Release Date: March 2, 2021

SYNOPSIS: Clara Saint-James is completing a journey started by an old friend. She’ll return a Cadillac to California, a place she’s avoided for more than a decade. But it’s time for closure and to put old ghosts to rest. And it’s time to find out if the feelings she’s cherished for the boy from her past are just fanciful memories–or if there’s a chance they are real. Timing was never on her side, especially when it came to Karson Avery. The two of them lived in a junkyard as runaway teens, and though she wanted more than his friendship, he always belonged to another–until that one night when he was hers. When Clara finds Karson living in a small, coastal town, she’s not surprised the beautiful boy from her past grew into a stunning man. His smile is as captivating as ever. His eyes have the same roguish glint. But timing is still working against her. Clara must decide how far she’s willing to go to battle for Karson’s heart. Or if it’s time to let him go and surrender to the dotted lines that have always kept them apart.

Dotted Lines is the last conclusion to the AMAZING Runaway Series!

REVIEW: WOW! What a perfect end to a touching series that will always hold a special place in my heart. I don’t have words to accurately describe how much I love this series. It seriously touched something in my soul. I loved every story and each characters connection to one another. They are all survivors at their core, and I think that has made me so invested in each and everyone of these characters. Getting all the women’s stories has been such a joy, and it had left me with a growing curiosity about Karson throughout each book. Who was the boy that lived with all of them in the Junkyard. What was his story? Well, finally getting it was beyond statisfying. I didn’t know how I’d feel about Clara’s crush with the history between Karson and Londyn, but Devney Perry did such a wonderful job of introducing Karson and Clara’s past story, I was all in. It was so endearing and even though it didn’t work out when Clara turned 18, I was definitely rooting for their second chance.

Clara is such a great character! I enjoyed seeing her in Aria’s story, Forsaken Trail, including her friendship with Brody. She’s been through so much and is a wonderful single mom. Her story definitely pulls at the heart strings and I cried, a lot. Her struggles with the past and present hit deep and made me tear up. She is so strong because she’s had to be ever since her parent died. I just admire her as a character. Getting Karson’s backstory and then his thought process of why he didn’t go with Aria when they left the junkyard, was both heartbreaking and endearing. I just wanted these two together so bad!

AND THAT EPILOGUE! Dear lord, I was crying all the happy tears. I was smiling with tears streaming down my face and I loved every minute of it. I sincerely recommend this entire series and I will definitely be doing a reread at some point.

5 STARS

Release Date: February 23, 2021

SYNOPSIS: I’m in love with two men.
But I can only marry one.
And today is my wedding day.

The bridesmaids button my wedding dress. They titter excitedly as the music begins. My groom is waiting for me. I walk down the aisle prepared to say I do. All according to plan.
Except for the shout from the back of the room, “I object!”
I should have known it couldn’t be that easy. After fourteen years of push and pull, neither of them is going to let me go. We’re a trio that should have never been. Me and Cole and Ash. One that I’m to marry and one that I’m to leave behind.
Now, once and for all, I have to choose: my groom or the man objecting?

But until then…hold the forevers.

A new angsty stand alone love triangle romance from USA Today bestselling author K.A. Linde that will keep you guessing which man is her groom and which one objects…

REVIEW: If you know me, you know that I hate love triangles. Which probably make you wonder why I would volunteer to review this book. Well, here’s the thing: I love K.A. Linde’s writing ever since I read The Seasons Series and fell in love with all of the books and characters. So I now read anything she puts out. I think the structure of this book was super original and made if feel different than other love triangles I’ve read before. There is also the K.A. Linde trademark angst that’s going to break your heart as well. It was also interesting that I had no idea who was who at the wedding–which is the scene it starts with before going back in time–but I did have a feeling about who she would pick. All I have to say is that if you like love triangles, you should definitely check this one out!

My Beautiful Neighbor by Piper Rayne

5 STARS

Release Date: February 23, 2021

SYNOPSIS: Who’s the mystery woman who just walked into my brewery?  I’m not the only one from my Alaskan small town asking themselves that question. But I’m positive, I’m the only one in Sunrise Bay undressing the pretty blonde in my head. Everything about her, from her make-up to her high heels says she’s a fish out of water.  Whispers and speculations run rampant until the secret of who she is gets uncovered. Then the rumor mill goes into overdrive when she announces she’s staying to open a bookstore in the building next to mine—throwing a big wrench into my plans to buy that empty building. I quickly find myself in a tug-of-war since my business partner/brother is upset she’s ruined the opportunity to expand our business. I try to keep my distance, but I’ve got one sister with a gossip column on the local radio station and two meddling grandmas setting me up as a tour director. And now I kind of like the idea of our new neighbor staying. But small-town life isn’t for the weak—time will tell if she has what it takes to be one of us.

This is Book 1 in The Greene Family Series!
It’s off to a FANTASTIC start.

REVIEW: WOW. Piper Rayne has done it again, and now I’m obsessed with The Greene Family just like I was obsessed with The Baileys. I just need every single book right this second! I’m really glad I read the novella about the parents of the blended family, My Twist of Fortune, because it got me completely invested in the characters of the story. I think seeing them as kids dealing with everything that was going on gives you a better background into them as adults. I sincerely look forward to seeing how it all plays out for each sibling throughout the series.

Another thing we get as readers is to see little cameos of the Bailey’s! Obviously we get more Grandma Dori, because she’s best friends with Grandma Ethel of the Greene Family. The grandmas definitely add a hilarious factor to this book, and I cannot wait to see their meddling throughout the series. They brought so much laughter to the story at times that I was in tears.

Okay, okay, let’s get to Cade and Presley. I absolutely loved them. There is definitely some slow burn going on with these two and I didn’t know how it was going to go, but man as the story went on I just needed to know what was gonna happen to them. After seeing Cade deal with his dad’s remarriage as a teen in the novella, I was really interested in how that was going to impact him and Presley. And Presley! I kind of loved how stubborn she was, even when Cade was actually being a really great guy. Their chemistry was steamy and I just felt like they really were meant to be together.

As usual Piper Rayne has given us the gift of a teaser for the next book at the end of this one. These teasers always make me wish I had that next book in my hands right that very second. This teaser specifically was a doozy! Let’s just say Adam–who is adorable in this story and develops a wonderful friendship with Presley–is going to have a book that I feel like I am not going to be able to put down! The count down begins until My Almost Ex!!

I shouldn’t have invited the girl genius to live with me, but it’s clear she needs my help—not only for a place to lay her pretty blonde head but in finding real love, which she’s not going to get with the crazy men she picks up online. Too bad she’s a twenty-four-year-old virgin and I’m a bad boy wide receiver. She’s off limits for a hardcore player like me—and we’re just friends. Instead, I’m her matchmaking service, no matter how jealous it makes me when I tag along on her dates. I can keep my self-control. Right? No way will I give in to everything inside me that dreams of a girl like her in my world. I may be the best wide receiver in the country, but how could I hold on to a girl like her?

REVIEW: I have been curious about Giselle since first meeting her during the unfortunate circumstances in book one, Not my Romeo. She’s not exactly the antagonist, but she does make a big mistake that hurts her sister Elena (the main character of book 1). It was really interesting to read Giselle’s story and learn more about her. I ended up really loving her as a character. It fascinated me how lost she was, but also how strong and smart she was. She was a bit of a contradiction, that’s for sure. Her and Devon’s interactions were entertaining, and I appreciated seeing her deal with how Devon was so on the fence about everything. Devon is a little damaged from not only his childhood, but his last relationship–which means he’s definitely my type of hero! He also handled the difficult situations fairly well, even though I wanted him to figure things out a lot faster. I really did want these two characters to find their happiness together. I’ve also really enjoyed Aiden in both books, he’s a great side character! He seems like he might have a lot more depth than how he’s comes off so far. I’m hoping we get his book! Overall, this is another Ilsa Madden-Mills book I loved and just reiterated why she is an auto-buy author for me!
